ABOUT US
OUR Davis Family History
Hall Davis and Son Funeral Service has been serving the Greater Baton Rouge area families for years. We are honored to be a part of the rich history of this community and plan to be a part of it for many years to come.
The Davis family heralds from Plaquemine, Louisiana and has experienced generations of entrepreneurs. In the early 1900’s, Hall Davis II, better known as the “Ice Man” owned and operated a horse driven entity called the “Crystal Ice Company”. He later, owned a car and provided an ambulance/taxi cab service for persons in need of being transported to medical facilities and to purchase groceries.
In 1954, Hall III and his wife Elsie Harrington Davis, a nurse, established Hall’s Port Allen Mortuary with a sustaining ambulance-hearse business.
In 1975, Hall Davis IV entered the business and maintained the operation after the demise of his mother in 1983 and father in 1985. Hall Davis IV, along with his wife Cecile, a licensed funeral director and registered nurse, children Pam Davis, MD, Felicia Davis, Esquire and Hall V, continue their involvement with the funeral industry.
We are proud to say that in 2005, the legacy continued and Hall Davis & Son Funeral Service, Baton Rouge, Louisiana was established by Hall Davis IV. He later expanded and opened two new facilities in August 2007. Hall Davis and Son of Plaquemine opened simultaneous with a new facility, Hall Davis and Son of Port Allen. Today, Hall Davis & Son Funeral Service remains a family owned funeral business as it has for the last 50+ years.
